NLP Research Engineer

Cohere is looking for a Senior NLP Research Engineer to work on our enterprise language models. You will develop new techniques for instruction-following, improve factual accuracy, and build evaluation frameworks for our models. Your work will directly impact how enterprises use AI for mission-critical applications. You will collaborate with our research team to translate cutting-edge NLP research into production-ready features. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in multilingual NLP, long-context reasoning, and tool-use capabilities.

- 5+ years in NLP/ML engineering - Deep understanding of transformer architectures - Experience with RLHF, DPO, or other alignment techniques - Proficiency in Python and PyTorch - Published research in NLP is a plus - MS/PhD in NLP, ML, or Computational Linguistics preferred
