Job Description:
As the Senior Manager of the Power Systems team, you will be responsible for all aspects of the X-BAT aircraft power system, the Launch and Recovery Vehicle, and ground equipment. This includes the architecture, design, qualification, integration, and deployment to production. You will build a team of world class engineers to design custom power electronics, batteries, harnesses, generators, and anything else necessary to realize the architecture. If you excel in cross-functional collaboration, thrive in fast-moving environments, and are passionate about pushing the limits of power system design, we want to hear from you.

What you'll do:
Define and execute the vision of the X-BAT aircraft power system from concept to production. This includes power generation, regulation, distribution, power quality, control, etc. Design, develop, and integrate state-of-the-art high-power systems tailored for optimal performance and reliability in harsh environments (high altitude, radiation, etc.) Design custom power electronics for high power and high voltage Design an uninterruptible power system with a high-capacity battery Make vs. buy trade studies. Select, test, and integrate modules for use in the aircraft Build a world class power electronics lab Ensure system performance and reliability is met through rigorous verification Debug complex problems related to the electrical design, environmental, manufacturing, etc. Build your team and lead multiple engineers dedicated to the power system design Drive a cross-functional team to execute the top-level architecture Provide mentorship, design review, and program execution leadership Work in a fast-paced environment
Required qualifications:
Power system design experience on large aircraft, or an equivalent power system (rocket, satellite, submarine, etc.) 10+ years relevant experience Have delivered power system and power electronic products to market Proficient with electrical engineering development tools, simulation, and test equipment Strong technical fundamentals and analysis
