The Deal Advisory team protects and advances Stripe’s business, brand, and mission by building and deploying industry-leading policies and practices that instill user and partner trust in Stripe while enabling business growth.</p> <h2><strong>What you’ll do</strong></h2> <p>As a member of the Deal Advisory team, you will partner with cross-functional teams—including Financial Crimes, Product, Partnerships, Legal, Sales, and Data Science—to design and execute on strategies and projects to improve Stripe’s risk controls and user experience. You will provide expert guidance and analyses to help grow new business in a risk-conscious manner.</p> <p>We are looking for someone who is passionate about navigating ambiguity, enabling business growth while balancing risk, and is skilled at identifying ways to improve user experience.</p> <h3><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h3> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Embed within Sales teams to drive due diligence strategy for large, complex financial services deals. You will partner with Stripe’s Sales, Legal, Compliance Product, and Financial Partnerships teams to drive sophisticated solutions and ensure a positive experience for Stripe’s largest users.</li> <li>Perform research and analysis to assess Stripe’s current risk performance and develop and prioritize long-term strategic plans for future growth.</li> <li>Challenge the status quo and provide multiple alternative solutions and key execution criteria.</li> <li>Represent Stripe in external engagements with our most critical partners and users.</li> <li>Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses as initiatives, products, risks, and opportunities are constantly evolving.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Who you are</strong></h2> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.</span></p> <h3><strong>Minimum requirements</strong></h3> <ul> <li>5+ years of professional experience, preferably in Financial Services, Payments or FinTech industries</li> <li>Experience in a related role (risk, compliance, legal, consulting)</li> <li>Experience in developing risk strategies and solutions and working with technical (product and engineering) and operations teams to implement them</li> <li>Ability to distill complex, ambiguous regulatory issues into clear, concise, and reliable guidance for stakeholders and Stripe users</li> <li>Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing product/engineering, sales, data science, and operations teams</li> <li>Demonstrated track record of deriving insights from complex or technical problem spaces and evangelizing actionable product recommendations</li> <li>The ability to take ownership, be accountable, and lead without formal authority </li> <li>Entrepreneurial and curious mindset, strong communication and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and solve problems with the end user in mind</li> <li>Strong desire to work in a fast paced and innovative environment</li> <li>Strong analytical skills and operating rigor</li> <li>Strong executive presence and presentation skills, including experience engaging with leadership</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Preferred qualifications</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Experience overseeing execution and delivery of highly-strategic programs; proven ability to take complex issues and turn them into actionable next steps, hold others accountable, and meet deadlines</li> <li>Experience in a client-facing role managing relationships with large, global, and complex organizations</li> <li>Ability to navigate data and people to find answers and drive solutions</li> <li>A strong understanding of our business and products, and an ability to research/self-start</li> <li>Experience working with tools like SQL, Salesforce, and Jira</li> <li>Familiarity with one or more of the following: Card network rules, Banking and money movement regulations, KYC/KYB, AML OFAC compliance </li> </ul>
