They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.</span></p></div><p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE:</strong></p> <p>As a Construction Electrician, you will install and terminate new electrical infrastructure: conduit, cable tray, underground duct bank, cable, wire, and 480 V building and feeder work. This is a build job, not an operating-plant job — pull, land, and energize new equipment from drawings, then turn it over. You will follow lockout/tagout and grounding procedures and support first energization of new 480 V systems. This position is primarily based in Southaven, MS.</p> <p>This is an hourly position with overtime. Expect 80% or more travel on a rotation, with per diem while on site.</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Install, terminate, and land new campus electrical equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, buswork, control systems, and batteries at 480 V.</li> <li>Install conduit, cable tray, cable, wire, and terminations per issued-for-construction drawings; perform underground duct bank, trench, and cable-pull work.</li> <li>Perform installation quality checks and electrical testing (voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, insulation megger) and assist with acceptance and commissioning tests on new gear.</li> <li>Read and interpret construction drawings, one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work orders.</li> <li>Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), grounding, clearance procedures, NFPA 70E, and PPE requirements on an active construction site.</li> <li>Uncrate, set, and dress equipment; climb structures; operate hand and power tools, pulls, blowers, pumps, and portable generators.</li> <li>Support construction energization sequences, punch-list closeout, and turnover to operations with engineers and vendors.</li> <li>Document work performed, test results, and as-built markups.</li> <li>Operate company vehicles and specialized equipment; inspect and store personal protective equipment (PPE).</li> <li>Perform similar or less skilled incidental duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalency certificate.</li> <li>5+ years of industrial or data center electrical construction installing conduit, tray, duct bank, cable, and 480 V terminations.</li> <li>Ability to read construction drawings, one-lines, manuals, and work packages.</li> <li>Proficiency with common electrical test tools (multimeter, megger, ammeter) and construction hand and power tools.</li> <li>Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and lockout/tagout (LOTO).</li> <li>Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights and in confined spaces, and work outdoors in all weather.</li> <li>Hourly position with overtime; willingness to work nights, weekends, and extended shifts during construction and energization.</li> <li>Ability and willingness to travel 80% or more on a construction rotation; per diem provided while on site.</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Current state journeyman electrician license (Tennessee or Mississippi preferred, or equivalent state journeyman license with the ability to obtain TN or MS).</li> <li>Industrial, manufacturing, or data center construction experience building raceway and cable plant.</li> <li>Experience on large-scale, multi-site construction projects that required a travel rotation.</li> <li>OSHA 30 or equivalent construction safety training in addition to NFPA 70E.</li> <li>Knowledge of print reading for drawings, manuals, and one-lines.</li> </ul> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Schedule varies depending on site operational needs; frequent overtime and weekend support is required.</li> <li>Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working on ladders/lifts at elevated heights.</li> <li>Ability to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, noise, heat, cold, and rain.</li> <li>Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment.</li> <li>Stand: up to 6 hours per day.</li> <li>Sit: up to 3 hours per day.</li> <li>Push/Pull: up to 75 lbs. (unassisted) 1–2 hours per day.</li> <li>Overhead reach: up to 3 hours per day.</li> <li>Walk: up to 3 hours per day.</li> <li>Lift/Carry: up to 50 lbs.
