This role oversees the integrity of supply side-derived cost components, ensures accurate financial attribution, and develops scalable cost intelligence frameworks that support real-time financial insights.</p> <p>In addition to operational oversight, this position partners with AI engineers to design and implement <strong>AI-enabled finance workflows</strong>, including the development of a <strong>holistic agentic system for finance operations</strong> built on strong financial data hygiene and structured financial datasets.</p> <h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3> <h4><strong>Cloud Cost Operations & Verification</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Oversee the operational review of vendor-derived cloud cost components, including compute capacity, infrastructure services, and platform-related supplier charges.</li> <li>Perform structured three-way verification between supplier purchase orders, contracts, and invoices, ensuring charges align with agreed pricing, service terms, and contracted capacity.</li> <li>Confirm the reliability and completeness of service receipts, including validation that billed cloud capacity or services were actually delivered and consumed as expected.</li> <li>Investigate billing discrepancies with vendors and internal teams to ensure accurate financial records and cost attribution.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>Billing Integrity & Vendor Credit Management</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Validate invoices and credit memos associated with cloud infrastructure services and platform vendors.</li> <li>Trace, track, and reconcile the application of supplier credit memos, particularly in cases of service performance issues, overcharges, or capacity shortfalls.</li> <li>Ensure credits are properly applied to financial records and reflected in cost reporting and vendor balances.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>Cost Intelligence & Allocation</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Maintain structured mapping of vendor costs into internal cost allocation frameworks.</li> <li>Perform accounting allocations that disaggregate infrastructure and service costs down to the customer or workload level, enabling accurate product and customer unit economics.</li> <li>Work with finance and analytics teams to ensure cost datasets support customer-level profitability analysis and infrastructure cost visibility.</li> </ul> <p><strong>AI-Enabled Finance and Accounting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Implement and manage AI-assisted workflows for financial document processing, cost classification, and anomaly detection.</li> <li>Work closely with AI engineers and data teams to develop an agentic finance operations framework that automates financial review, cost attribution, and operational decision support.</li> <li>Drive the creation of AI-ready financial data infrastructure by establishing high-quality financial data hygiene and domain-informed controls.This enables trusted AI-driven financial automation with human-in-the-loop oversight, combining finance expertise with AI to build an AI-native finance function that scales with Firework’s growth.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Process Optimization & Systems</strong></p> <ul> <li>Continuously improve finance operations processes through automation, structured data design, and workflow optimization.</li> <li>Maintain integration between vendor billing data, financial systems, and analytics tools.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Strategic Initiative Example</strong></h3> <p>One of the key projects for this role is partnering with AI engineers to design a <strong>holistic agentic finance operations system</strong>, where AI agents assist with:</p> <ul> <li>financial document interpretation</li> <li>cost classification and allocation</li> <li>anomaly detection in vendor billing</li> automation.</p> <h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3> <h4>Minimum Requirement:</h4> <ul> <li>Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting</li> <li>5 years of experience working in Finance and/or Accounting</li> </ul> <h4>Expertise preferred not required:</h4> <ul> <li>Cost Accounting, Vendor management and Payment Operations Experience</li> <li>Tooling: Google workspace, Ramp, AI productivity
