They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.</span></p></div><h3><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE:</strong></h3> <p>The Infrastructure team builds an end-to-end RL training framework to enable pre-training-scale RL.</p> <h3><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Design and implement state-of-the-art distributed RL systems</li> <li>Profile, debug, and optimize system performance</li> <li>Software and algorithm co-design with engineers</li> </ul> <h3><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Experience building, debugging, and optimizing large scale distributed training systems</li> <li>Experience building async RL training frameworks</li> <li>Experience in inference systems</li> <li>Proficiency in Python, Jax, or Rust</li> </ul> <h3><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>PhD with AI or other scientific domains</li> <li>Strong knowledge of reinforcement learning techniques</li> <li>Experience building infra for large-scale reinforcement learning and multi-agent reinforcement learning</li> </ul> <h3><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:</strong></h3> <p>$180,000 - $440,000 USD</p> <p>Base salary is just one part of our total rewards package at xAI, which also includes equity, comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short & long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and various other discounts and perks.</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>xAI is an equal opportunity employer.
