The team records business transactions accurately and on time in the balance sheet and income statement, and partners with cross-functional and international teams in a fast-paced environment.</p> <h2 id="what-youll-do">What you'll do</h2> <p>You'll join the Product Accounting team to support revenue accounting for Payments and Payment Products. You'll use your technical expertise in US GAAP, including ASC 606, to identify accounting implications and customer impacts, advise cross-functional partners, and develop operating processes that help Stripe scale.</p> <h3 id="responsibilities">Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li>Build scalable accounting processes to support global growth in payment processing accounting</li> <li>Partner with product, go-to-market, and Finance teams to understand new products, features, and contracts</li> <li>Partner with Systems and Engineering teams to improve financial systems and automate accounting processes</li> <li>Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and design processes and controls for emerging business activities</li> <li>Develop and maintain current accounting procedure documentation</li> <li>Plan and perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, balance-sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, financial reporting deliverables, and reviews</li> <li>Produce management analyses and reporting, and support external audit processes</li> </ul> <h2 id="who-you-are">Who you are</h2> <p>We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.</p> <h3 id="minimum-requirements">Minimum requirements</h3> <ul> <li>2 - 4 years of relevant accounting experience</li> <li>Professional accountancy qualification, such as CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field</li> <li>Experience with monthly or quarterly close processes, journal-entry preparation and posting, audits, regulatory reporting, financial-statement preparation, and accounting systems</li> <li>Working knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606, and experience with internal controls</li> <li>Ability to structure ambiguous work, solve problems using Excel, build systems and automation, collaborate across functions and cultures, and adapt to changing requirements</li> </ul> <h3 id="preferred-qualifications">Preferred qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Experience in the technology or payments industry</li> <li>Experience with Oracle Suite</li> <li>Experience with data-querying and analysis tools, including SQL</li> <li>Experience with data-analysis tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, KNIME, Python, or Alteryx</li> </ul>
