They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.</span></p></div><h3>About the Role</h3> <p data-pm-slice="1 3 []">As a Safety Specialist at our Tulane site, you’ll join xAI’s Health, Safety, and Environment team ensuring a secure and compliant workplace for our cutting-edge projects. Working onsite with dedicated teams, you’ll tackle safety challenges, implement robust protocols, and maintain high standards to keep operations running smoothly. Expect to dive into risk assessments, foster a culture of safety, and support xAI’s mission to accelerate human scientific discovery through AI.</p> <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li>Conduct regular inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and xAI safety standards.</li> <li>Oversee the inventory of safety supplies, restocking as needed to maintain adequate resources for emergency response and daily operations.</li> <li>Perform manual sound and air quality assessments to ensure a healthy work environment, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions when necessary.</li> <li>Provide immediate first aid care to employees as required, coordinating with external medical services when needed.</li> <li>Uphold and enforce site-specific safety plans, policies, and protocols, conducting training sessions to promote a culture of safety awareness.</li> </ul> <h3>Required Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>OSHA 30 certification.</li> <li>Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Drive, Calendar).</li> <li>Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess and address safety risks effectively.</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.</li> <li>Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends to support site operations or respond to emergencies.</li> <li>Physical capability to perform site inspections, including walking, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.</li> </ul> <h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, or Nursing certification/experience, with the ability to respond to medical emergencies.</li> <li>Background in electrical or mechanical systems, preferably in an industrial or construction setting.</li> <li>2+ years of experience in construction safety or a related field, with a proven track record of implementing safety protocols.</li> <li>Familiarity with incident investigation and root cause analysis to prevent future safety incidents.</li> <li>Experience with safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001) or environmental monitoring tools.</li> <li>Strong communication skills to deliver safety training and collaborate with cross-functional teams.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>xAI is an equal opportunity employer.
