We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, and collaborate with others on critical challenges, ensuring safety and ethics are the highest priority.</p> <h2>The Role</h2> <p>In order to set you up for success as an Senior Software Engineer in the Gemini App team, we look for the following skills and experience:</p> <h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3> <ul> <li>Understand the critical user journeys of our target user segments (such as small business owners) and improve their user experience </li> <li>Lead the full-stack implementation, from front-end, back-end, to the model, to deliver high quality products</li> <li>Collaborate with researchers to understand cutting-edge innovation and improvement in generative AI, and apply it to the app</li> <li>Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify headroom for the user journeys, and develop a strategy to design and implement solutions to improve the quality</li> <li>Work together with the teams responsible for model development to enhance and refine model performance</li> </ul> <h2>About You</h2> <p>In order to set you up for success as a Senior Software Engineer at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:</p> <ul> <li>BS, MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience</li> <li>Experience working on software engineering projects from prototype to production</li> <li>Strong communication skills and a reliable team player</li> <li>Proven knowledge and experience of programing in Java, C++, or Python in production environments</li> <li>Individuals who thrive in ambiguity and have a shipping mindset</li> <li>Willing to do whatever moves the projects forward</li> </ul> <p>In addition, the following would be an advantage: </p> <ul> <li>Strong data analysis skills</li> <li>Experience with ML, especially LLMs</li> <li>Ability to thrive and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $166,000 - $244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
